Introductry Course

Designed to teach the fundamental basics of jewelry making in metal. Learn skill techniques with basic bench tools that are easily accessible for creating your own jewelry. Techniques covered will be pattern and design transfer, sawing and piercing, filing, sanding, finishing, soldering, forming metal, and stamping. The concepts of design and development; understanding cost and pricing of jewelry; and selling is also explored. Classes fare limited to 4 people for personal attention. Metals used are copper, brass, and sterling silver. Possible to make 3-4 completed jewelry projects. Six sessions of two hours each - $240 plus materials. Tuition includes: Instruction and tool use. Open enrollment.

Intermediate Course

After completion of the introductory class, specific jewelry projects can be accomplished. Suggested concentration can be any of the following: stone setting; chain making; forged work; cold connections; surface enrichment (roller embossing, texturing, etching); design development. Purchase of materials from me, or bring your own. Tools provided, or bring your own. Two hour sessions with commitment of 4 sessions pre-scheduled - $160. Open enrollment.
